Terms of Service

These terms apply when you book any service with Mobile Clutch Repair. Please read them carefully — booking a service means you agree to them.

About us

Mobile Clutch Repair ("we", "us", "our") provides mobile clutch repair, replacement, diagnostics, dual mass flywheel and hydraulic system services to private customers and businesses across Essex, Kent, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and London. You can contact us at info@mobileclutchrepair.co.uk or 01268 431375.

Quotes and pricing

Quotes are issued in writing before any work begins. Every quote is fixed and inclusive of parts, labour, mobile call-out and standard consumables — unless we identify additional faults during the on-site inspection that could not reasonably have been known about beforehand (for example, a damaged dual mass flywheel discovered once the gearbox is removed, seized bolts requiring extraction, or hidden corrosion).

If additional work is required, we will stop, explain the issue clearly, and provide a revised quote. No additional work is carried out without your express agreement.

Bookings and cancellation

Bookings are confirmed in writing (email or text). If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours' notice so we can offer the slot to another customer.

If we arrive at the agreed location and you are not present, the vehicle is not accessible, or the location does not allow safe work (see "Customer obligations" below), we may charge a wasted-call-out fee equal to our standard hourly rate.

Payment

Payment is due on completion of the work, on the same day. We accept debit cards, credit cards (no surcharge), bank transfer, and cash. For business accounts and fleet bookings, alternative payment terms can be agreed in writing in advance.

Warranty

All workmanship is covered by our workmanship warranty. Replacement parts are covered by the manufacturer's parts warranty (typically 12 months on OEM-grade clutch kits, master and slave cylinders, and hydraulic components).

The warranty covers manufacturing defects and faults caused by our workmanship. It does not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, or aggressive driving
  • Wear caused by towing, lugging, or slipping the clutch
  • Damage caused by other faults on the vehicle (such as oil contamination from a leaking rear main seal)
  • Modifications or repairs carried out by anyone other than us after our work is completed

Warranty claims must be reported to us as soon as the fault occurs. We will inspect the vehicle on-site and, where the claim is valid, repair or replace the affected component at no charge.

Customer obligations

For us to carry out work at your location, you must provide:

  • A safe, level, dry working area large enough for the vehicle and our service van (a typical home driveway or workplace car park is fine)
  • Reasonable access to the vehicle for the duration of the work
  • Accurate information about the vehicle and the fault when you book
  • Permission from the property owner if you are not the owner of the location

We reserve the right to refuse or postpone work if the location is unsafe or unsuitable (for example, on a public road without permission, on a steep slope, or in conditions that compromise safety).

Liability

Our total liability to you for any loss or damage arising from the services we provide is limited to the price you paid for the work in question. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses (for example, loss of earnings, loss of use, or alternative transport costs).

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

Force majeure

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, traffic incidents, strikes, supplier failures, or government action. Where such an event occurs we will contact you as soon as possible to reschedule.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from these terms or the services we provide is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The terms in force on the date you book the service are the ones that apply to that booking. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
